About Me

Knowing how to do something is one thing; being able to explain it clearly to someone else is another.

I started this site because I love music, audio technology, and teaching. My experience in the  field of audio engineering is eclectic, to say the least. Apart from being a musician, my recent projects include recording several studio albums, mixing, MIDI production, music editing, postproduction for indy films, touring around the country as a guitar tech specialist, teaching college, developing tracks for the RockBand video game…and that’s just in the past month or so. There’s that old saying, “Those that can’t do, teach”. Well, I do both. I think that “real world” experience makes me a better teacher.

If you care about degrees, I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Technology from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. I also hold a Master’s of Fine Arts in Recording Arts and Technology from Middle Tennessee State University, one of the top recording schools in the country, where I was also a teacher. I’m a certified ProTools instructor, and I’ve taught everything from the basics, all the way to advanced engineering, MIDI production, large format recording consoles, and 5.1 surround mixing.

I’ve helped hundreds of students achieve their creative goals, regardless of musical genre, while leading many to understand topics they once thought completely baffling.

I will not take your money unless you are satisfied with my classes. What I want is for you to grow, learn, and make amazing music.  Head over to the “Courses” page and see what is currently being offered.

Be good,
