Free Reverb Impulse Responses

If you’re trudging through your DAW searching for the best reverb plugins, you may be a little disheartened. Some are good, some are bad (or very bad), but there are very that are truly excellent. For those of you who have a convolution reverb, I want to pass along some really great, free impulse responses. If you don’t have one, here’s a few free plugins for Mac and PC.

Mac: LAConvolver (AU)

PC: SIR1 (VST)

I’m sure there are plenty more to be had…search around if neither of these suit you.

Now, convolution reverbs run off of impluse responses, and there are plenty of free ones to be had. Here’s just a few options:

The IR Library has a number of IRs that will work with many different reverb plugins.

Noise Vault has some interesting ones…

Finally, Samplicity has some great IRs of the awesome Bricasti M7 and the TC 6000 series, among others.

Check these out! There’s no need to blow a bunch of cash on plugins when there are free tools all over the internet.
